i love gwen but i dont know what kind of look they were going for here. maybe it was a battle scene theme but this looks like bruises! what's up with the makeup artist here?!

Asian models constantly get plastered with way too much makeup on their faces, especially in the western market.

I think it's because the makeup artists find Asian faces kinda flat with non-distinct features so they feel Asian faces (1) can take a lot of makeup OR (2) need a lot of makeup to make it pop.
