Because China is hosting the Olympic Games this year, all the major fashion magazines are featuring Chinese faces in editorials for their August issue: Vogue has Zhang Ziyi, Harper's Bazaar has Lucy Liu and Allure has Du Juan.

I love all the make up used in this editorial. She looks just lovely.
This is how to do an editorial. Great model, simple set-up, beautiful clothes, identifiable descriptions. It's almost like a catalog but with a little edge to it.
Du Juan can do no wrong.
She looks so gorgerous in this. Too bad it's ALLURE.
I just watched an interview of her with 'Oprah of China' and I really like and respect her now. Hopefully she will get more work after such a good campaign season.

I can't believe these are from Allure! If I didn't know any better, I'd think they were from an international edition of Vogue. Du Juan looks great. I'm definitely saving these to my hard drive.
I guess Allure really shelled out the big $$$ for this. Patrick Demarchelier does not come cheap.
Du Juan got paid scale -- probably $300 for the shoot, like most editorials. It's surprising her agent booked her on Allure. But then again, she needs more exposure in the US market and Demarchelier probably requested her for the shoot. Who can so no to him?
