This is Liu Dan's third appearance in a Nordstrom's catalog this year. The company must really love her. But then again, what's not to love -- she's gorgeous and versatile. The first two photos are spectacular; the rest are above average catalog stuff.

In addition, there are so many catalog shoots that a successful catalog model can book a job almost every month. Magazine covers and editorials, on the other hand, are great for recognition and exposure but they rarely pay more than $300/day, even for top-notch magazines like Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.

i don't like the third one as much. it seems to lack the artistic aspect the other ones have. do models usually finish a shoot in one day?
With so many designers paying for runway work with clothes, catalog is very important.
One of the popular blk models, Antong, of the Alec Wek look alike fame does almost total commercial work as of late. I guess she says whatever pays the billls.
Liu Dan is a reall cutie and versatile. I will ad her to my list of favorites fashion models.
yeap catalogs pay well. Out of LA you can make $3000/day so I imagine even more out of NYC
hyoni recently did 2 spreads for teen vogue.. the september and i think, august editions? both very happy, lighthearted, etc.
