i would like to suggest for you to check out ms. anna bayle. arguably one of the very first asian fashion models. i would liken anna bayle as the hye park of the 70's. she might not be as well known as her colleagues but she has done numerous couture shows and has appeared in ads for high end labels. she has walked the runway with the likes of iman and has walked the runways for versace, thierry mugler, dior, christain lacroix, valentino, sonia rykiel, isaac mizrahi, carolina herrera, etc. she has graced the covers of magazines such as harpers bazaar, voge, elle, marie claire, w, wwd and has done campaigns for givenchy, lanvin, yves saint laurent, calvin klein, alaia her website is annabayle.com.
Anna Bayle was not the top Asian runway model of the 70's. That was Beverly Lee. Anna became popular in the mid 80's when Beverly Lee was on the decline. Back then, they would use one Asian and very rarely two.
Off the topic...sorry, I find the tv ad commerical of Ai Tominaga on LUX 2007. so, here it is...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKjiD4KUjGU

ReplyDeletegorgeous, gorgeous girl! where is she from?
ReplyDeleteJarah is from Hawaii. I think she's like a mix of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Spanish.
ReplyDeleteWith a surname like Mariano, surely she must have some Filipino blood, no?
