This is awful. To put a Chinese young person in a dunce cap. Does anyone know that Mao used dunce caps in the cultural revolution during public ceremonies of degradation to shame intellectuals??? Most were executed shortly after.
Pretty awful to try and put that into fashion. Maybe this wasn't his meaning...But I think next time W magazine should be more careful.
Fashion has traditionally been influenced by history. However I think the terror of the cultural revolution should be left in the past.
I agree with Anonymous. Beautiful girl, reprehensible choice of head gear.
