Korean Vogue doesn't have the originality to create a good concept for their readers. From all the editorial that they have done in the past.. The themes and fashion has always been a carbon copy of the west. From the Sports Editorial to the Western Nautical.. As if all they do is just replacing the western model to an eastern ones. Not even a slightest of themselves is being presented in fashion, and that's very disappointing ...
Ehhh? What's wrong with these Vogue Korea haters with a noticeable consistency? is it a single Anonymous hater publishing multiple comment? I have no idea.
And to anon 3:05 am est,
carbon copy of West? haha you're so cute and proud of your local print. Vogue magazine is a missionary of fashion and capitalism of West.
Vogue Korea is shit now. End of story lol. Vogue China has remained very decent same with Nippon. Maybe VK fired some contributing editors or something. They also seem to be using really amateurish photographers. Where is Sebastien Kim?? And who is that highly unnattractive girl with Lee
Anon 6:16 AM Errrr...that's the WHOLE POINT of the story. It's light and shadows.
Anon 10:22 AM Vogue Korea has definitely gone down hill since the days of Hye Park and Han Jin but I'm seeing a bit of renaissance in the last couple of issues. They need to stay away from flowers in the stories. This story is actually very atypical, almost avant garde, of Vogue Korea's usual editorials. I like it a lot.
I don't think anyone is hating on Vogue Korea.. well ..some of the Anons seem to get a little upset.. but i sorta understand where they are coming from..
Vogue Korea is actually not bad but they could have done better.. I can see Vogue China and Nippon stand on their own because they establish a certain image for their mag. So Far, Vogue Korea haven't done enough of that yet if any. They have the skill and talent, they should go for it !
can you please put up some new photos of another fashion spread? it is a little boring to see the same model over and over again and i specifically go on this website to see the diversity of asian models, not just one

"So, do you subscribe to Vogue China by any chance?
some nationalistic behaviour is ridiculous to look at and they tend to be fashion ignoramuses most of times. my observation."
can please not indirectly point fingers to another nationality? it is a little hypocritic to frown upon "nationalistic behaviour" when it seems as if you are acting upon it as you speak
its understandable that they are pushing her as the next i.t korean supermodel.
ReplyDeletebut if so, then they should be very precise on what kind of concept would work on her.
because of far the editorials, its been fair but not working somehow with her look.
aiyo the last image is the only one that really works. matter of fact, the first one is frightening.
ReplyDeleteHyun Yi lee again! OMG im getting bored of her. pls feature other asian models. Not a big fan of her.

I don't understand why she's always blocking the lights, casting an ugly shadow on her face

Korean fashion is very unique. The model looks scary but I can understand what they are trying to show. I love it.

Vogue China is one of best and internationally reputable...
ReplyDeleteThe 'Post' work is a little too cookie-cutter for my liking but I do like the story!
ReplyDeleteOof. Not her best editorial, by far.
