i just came back from daniel vosovic's show. this is the project runway's season one winner who did his first fashion week show this year. ALL the models were ASIAN!! GO Daniel and the asian ppl!
The fact that people are "shocked" by the all asian cast shows how entire cultures are marginalized. one person wrote, "What was interesting about Daniel’s collection is it was presented on an entire cast of Asian-only models. While I love seeing a woman of color front and center in the fashion world, did it have to be in such a blatant way?" I'm sorry, fashion and entertainment have been blatantly Caucasian for a long time with a token black or asian person thrown in. Asian people are strong fashion consumers, designers, producers..so why are should we hide behind the scenes? Besides, Daniel said, when he designs, he has a woman in mind, and this is the face of that woman.
