Du Juan Editorial for China Vogue, October 2008

This editorial from China Vogue's October 2008 issue shows a very different side of Du Juan. Unfortunately, it is not the most exciting editorial by her. In fact, it is mediocre at best. The editorial is still highly stylized (complicated poses) but not as conceptual as the other high fashion shoots we've seen her done.

The look they have given her here is softer, sexier and very sultry. The hair stylist did a great job giving her bangs (is that a wig or did they cut her hair?) and setting them loose with the wind machine. However, if it wasn't for the new hair do, I would not have given this editorial a second look.

  6. Actually she looks good here but the ed's black and white tone is not sharp enough to show more contrast. I think its just ok. Usually when u need complicated poses, the go to girl is Emma Pei coz she is the tweak your body for every frame girl and good at it. Du is lucky she's very photogenic but everything else is pretty normal.

Indeed, she is photogenic. But, She isn't at her best at this works this time.

  8. This hairstyle reminds me of former Miss HongKong 1988 Michelle Reis in Wong Kai Wai's movie - "Fallen Angels" (1995). but, Michelle Reis looked much better maybe becos of the shape of her face. I think Du Juan has rounder face that doesn't look good in this hairstyle.

I love the 3rd image, who design this dress? I can imagine IM Pei can design a building base on this dress.

    her face looks very square
it doesnt look pretty on her
and the funny thing i realized is
that Du Juan's face seem to get
bigger and bigger by each photoshoot

strange haha or is it just me?
